Activities for children and adults:  “One two three … Art! Culture and entertainment “.

On 21 and 22 September, guided tours, workshops, special initiatives, musical events will take place free of charge or at discounted Fees in museums and cultural sites, which will be open and accessible at their normal prices. On Saturday, 21 September entrance tickets to the MarTA will only cost € 1.00 from 20.00 to 23.00.

Late-night opening hours from 20:00 to 23:00 at a symbolic fee of € 1.00.

  • “From the gold objects of Taranto to the Fabergé eggs”
    Opening hours: 16.00-23.00
    Venue: Cloister
    Students of the “V. Calò ” Art School of Taranto will present their work-based learning project to the public.
  • “Discovering the music of Magna Graecia”
    Opening hours: 16.00-23.00
    Venue: Cloister
    Students of the “Archita” State High School of Taranto will present their work-based learning project on to the public.
  • “Sounds of the gods. Ecstasy and music therapy from the mystery cults of Magna Graecia to the taranta”, themed guided tour by MarTA’s Staff Archaeologist, Lorenzo Mancini. Entry allowed upon purchase of an entrance ticket to the museum.
    Schedules: 18.00-19.00 and 21.30-22.30

  • Art and craftsmanship between the Greek and the Roman civilizations”, themed guided tour organized by MArTA Archaeologist, Luca Di Franco. Entry allowed upon purchase of an entrance ticket to the museum.

  • “Games in ancient times”, themed guided tour and educational workshop organized by MarTA’s technology staff members, Rosa Zampa and Giovanni Pietro Marinò. Entry allowed upon purchase of an entrance ticket to the museum.
    Recommended for families.  For up to 20 people.
    Schedules: 16.15-17.45 and 18.15-19.45

  • Art in Prehistory”, themed guided tour and educational workshop organized by MarTA’s technology staff members, Rosa Zampa and Giovanni Pietro Marinò. Entry allowed upon purchase of an entrance ticket to the museum.
    Recommended for families.  For up to 20 people.

  • “Restoration of the tomb in Via Polibio. Work in progress at the MArTA”, organized by MarTA’s Restoration Laboratory staff members, Giovanna Basile, Maria Brienza, Mario Pazzano, and Francesco Spina, working in collaboration with technical assistants, Anna Magrì and Anna Maria Prenna.
    Opening hours: 16.00 (starting at 16.15) – 23.00
    Venue: 2nd Floor, Multimedia Room
  • Details you have never seen before. The objects on display at the MArTA through the photographer’s lens”, organized by MarTA staff member, Paolo Buscicchio, and the museum archaeologists.

  • Activities organized in collaboration with the Giovanni Paisiello Music School of Taranto. Musical performances by guitarists and a saxophone quintet.

    17.00: Children’s workshop “The Greeks’ Music”. Age: 6 -12 years. Discounted fee: € 4.00 per child.
